I would like to use the calendar control on a sub form to pick a date. I
insert the control and set the control properties to the field I want to tie
it to but the calendar will not pop up in the form when I tab to the field.
I'm getting fustrated with this application. I get the feeling that one needs
a advanced degree from microsoft or must pay a fee to them to get these
whistles and bells to work. Are you listening Bill?

We'll get you there mike :-)
First explain:
Calender needs to pop up when you tab into field?

How's that?

Hi Mike,

In my humble opinion, you will be doing yourself a favor in the long run to
keep an arm's length distance (or more) from the ActiveX calendar control.
There are several good alternatives that do not rely on ActiveX technology,
which can be very problematic between different PC's with version control:

Popup Calendar (Allen Browne's site)

Month Calendar (Stephen Leban's site)
http://www.lebans.com/monthcalendar.htm

Calendar Sample database (John Viescas' site)

What is the default view for your subform? I don't think it is possible to
get it to work with a Datasheet view. You'll need to use either Form or
Continuous form.
Are you listening Bill?
Yes, they are. Access 2007 has been released specifically to cater to the
needs of folks who need an extra helping hand. Some of these changes have
been a bit controversial to seasoned developers, to say the least.

Thanks Tom. It works, and it works in datasheet view, the default view of my
sub form. I'm truly am sorry for any heartburn Bill is giving you guys, but
He's making the rest of us tear our hair out.

Hi Mike,
It works, and it works in datasheet view, the default view of my
sub form.

I'm not sure how you are managing this, unless you have the ActiveX Calendar
form on a separate form, which you are perhaps opening via a click or double
click event procedure...in any case, it sounds like you have found a
resolution. Is this correct?

I forgot to include a link to the Access 12 Blog site, where you can learn
all about the new features in Access 2007. Here it is:

I followed the instructions in the link, then set the event to
=CalendarFor([DueDate],"Select the DueDate") upon entry.
