Calendar and Inbox together

i'm using Outlook 2003 and i'm wondering if there is any way of making my
outlook personalised in a specific way.

what i'm after is similar to how the Calendar can have the Taskpad as a side
panel, but i'd like it to be when viewing my Inbox, i can have my Calendar
for the day in a side panel like the Taskpad in Calendar. not like 'Outlook
Today' of course.

is this even possible?
