Calculator-scientific mode

I have two computers: sony Vaio desk top and Acer 1520 Laptop, both running
Windows XP Home Edition SP" 2002 Version. Ihave a problem on both computers
using the calculator in scientific mode.

With Dec and Degree modes selected, simple calculations produce an error,
e.g.
4+5+6/3=11 ??? or 4+5-3/3=8???
Unlike the standard calculator, clicking '/' does not update the calculation.
Clicking +/ does the update OK but is not viable when doing something more
complicated.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

Use brackets!

At the moment, you're getting:

(4) + (5) + (6 / 3) = 11 and (4) + (5) - (3 / 3) = 8

because calculators on the computer work based on the order in which you
enter numbers and operating signs, rather than using BODMAS like normal
scientific calculators. Therefore, you need to enter:

(4 + 5 + 6) / 3 and (4 + 5 - 3) / 3

Many thanks. It raises the question in that the standard calculator
apparently uses BODMAS.
