Calculation

Hi,

I have a database that has all kinds of information about our hardware
inventory. There is a rack number, beginning unit number and ending unit
number for each server. I am looking to get a report/query (I'm not sure
which) that if I select a rack number it will tell me where empty space is.
Any suggestions on how I go about doing this kind of calculation?

Thanks

Consider providing just a few more details -- without some idea of how your
data is structured/stored in your table(s), it will be tough offering
specific suggestions...

I didn't create the database and haven't worked with Access in a few years,
so I'm not sure what you are looking for. There is not a separate table for
the the 3 parts of infomation I am looking to get this data out of. There is
1 table that has all kinds of additional information on the equipment such as
serial numbers etc. Is that what you are looking for?

I'm not there, so I have no idea what you are calling "empty space". Is
that a field? Is that something that is calculated? Is that something that
needs to be calculated? Does the table already have the data needed to do
the calculation?

(still) more info, please...
