Calculation order

What order do calculations calculate in?

Are the first calculations created in the worksheet always calculated first?
If the calculations are in row 1, are they calculated from left to right?
If the calculations are in column 1, are they calculated from top to bottom?

Any help would be welcome.

From this article it would imply that the order is also stored within the
worksheet.
