Calculating Time

Can anyone help with this issue?

I have a form that works out time worked in each day, then need to totalise
these for the week. However when I add the total time together it give an
incorrect value.

When I change the format the total also changes but still gives an incorrect
result

i.e.
Monday 7:27:00
Tuesday 6:51:00
Wed 8:43:00
Thurs 9:23:00
Friday 7:37:00
Total 38:81:00

all times are decimal minutes. The cells are formatted using custom format
[h]:mm:ss

When I add these together the result I get is: 40:01:00?

If I change the format to hh:mm:ss I get 16:01:00?

Anyone any ideas ?

Thanks
Phil

The result is correct, even if they are decimals they are seen as hh:mm, if
you want the result
to be 38.81 you have to enter them as 7.27 and so on (note that 7.27 is not
the same as 7:27,
7.27 is the same as 7:16) I get the same result 40:01 and that it what is
should be
