Calculating time difference in minutes

Does anyone know the function for how to calculate the
difference between two 24 hr format times in minutes. For
example, the difference in minutes between 13:30 and 21:39.

Put times in columns A and B directly in mm:ss format
i.e. literally type 12:05 (for example)
to put the difference in minutes in C use:
=(A1-B1)/60

and, if necessary, format C via the cell format dialog
box using CUSTOM and input mm:ss as the custom format
