Sorry about posting on this exhaustive subject of adding time and date
together. This should be a hint for Joe to create another book solel
devoted to this subject. I need ONE formula to do several things.
I track the downtime of our computers at work and use that to repor
back to management to gauge it's impact on the dept.
My dept is open from 7am-6pm M-F, no weekends so I only count the tim
down during those 11 hrs. However, computers may go down on 2pm on
Friday and we still can't access our applications until 10am on th
following Monday. But, I don't want to count those hours from 6p
Friday until 7am Monday.
I am looking to generate ONE formula that does the following:
- generates total hrs downtime whithin the same day
- generates total hrs downtime over several days or over a weekend
My current spreadsheet lists date and time as follows:
Date First Time Reported System Available Again
7-Aug 9:25 14:32 =SUM(C6-B6) as [h]:mm:ss
or
Date First Time Reported System Available Again
3-Sept 15:09
6-Sept (empty cell) 8:46 = ?
For this to work is it better if I input the date and time in the sam
cell?
Thank you in advance for your time in this matter.
