Calculating...... over and over.. and over

I have a continuous form that displays a complex query's results with
calculated totals. It works fine on a Gateway Access XPdeveloper addition
on WinXP professional OpSys.

On a Dell Windows Professonal 2002 OpSys machine running Access2003... every
record AFTER the first flickers the totals repeatedly. Status bar displays
"Calculating....." I did stop it by taking the vertical scroll bar to the
last of the records. The flickering stopped then and I could scroll back up
with no problem, no flickering. But each time I open the form the same..
Ive played with the calculations.. no change. I opened the query.. data is
fine.

The form does not display anything in certain fields unless conditions are
met... therefore the field is blank until a calculation determines whether to
display text or totals or "". I believe that the text and totals are blank
while calculating, then some are filled in as the calculation completes...
thus creating the flickering effect. The rest of the stationary or fixed,
non-conditional fields on the screen are ok. Because the system is
re-calculating repeatedly some fields flicker.

Again, it works fine on my development machine running XP and XP.

I intend to release this on many different machines and configurations.

HELP!

This almost sounds like a hardware issue. Especially if, once the
calculations complete, the results are correct, on both systems.

Yes, the calculations are correct. I will try loading onto different systems
to see if the same happens.
The box that I'm having problems on has been rock solid and maintained by my
corp office.
I have seen another post regarding calculated controls.. Maybe too many...
but why would it work on an older version of Access if so?

It's probably *not* a hardware problem. There are some bugs with
conditional formatting that can cause the behavior you describe. See
this KB article:

I imagine if you use Google Groups to search the Access newsgroups for
"Conditional Formatting Flicker", you'll find a fair amount of
discussion.
