calculating on data from a previous record

Hi, I have a continuous form based on a table created by a make table query
where I want the item to show the current value plus the value from the
previous record of the same field.

This repeats all the way down, so I have effectively a running total.

Any idea how I can do that?

In the help menu type "running total". The first option, should tell you

Thanks for the suggestion - i was really hoping i could find a solution in a

I'm sorry -- I didn't even read that help file all the way through. I
didn't realize it was for reports. I don't know if there's a way. When I
get home tonight, if no one has figured anything out, I'll see. I track my
personal budget in Access, and that would be a very good feature to add to
the Bank Account portion of my Form. So I'll play around with it tonight
and see what I can come up with. I'll let you know either way tomorrow.
