Calculated Fields in Pivot Tables

I have just used the Calculated Field function in a Pivot Table in
order to give me the value of one field divided by another field.
Although I have the new Calculated Field in my Pivot Table it assumes
that I want the Sum of this field, but I actually want the Average
instead...

How can I get averages instead of sums?

"How can I get averages instead of sums?"
..you should be able to right-click the number and select averag
instead of su

You can't change the summary function for a calculated field. Perhaps
you can do the calculation in the source data, and add that field to the
pivot table.

Yes, that is what I actually resorted to doing as the next best
option... Thank you anyway - again!

By the way, I love your website and it is one of my three main Excel
sources. As a result I am keen to get a copy of the table of contents
(TOC) of your Pivot Tables book before I decide to buy it... Can you
send me a copy of the TOC to my e-mail address that I used to e-mail
you last week?

Regards
