calculate amount of time difference

Hello folks. I'm trying to figure out how to get excel to calculate time
differences between two AMOUNTS of time, not TIME OF DAY. Specifically:

1:34:24 should be interpreted as 1 hour, 34 minutes, 24 seconds, not 1:34:24
AM

1:25:24 likewise

Difference should be 9:00, as in 9 minutes, 0 seconds.

Use:

Latest-Earliest

As in:

B1-A1
Format [mm]:ss

I've surrounded the mm with [ and ] so that it will record differences
of +60 as minutes not hours.
