cached domain credentials not working

Appoligies if this is posted in the wrong area.

This is an odd problem. The system is a laptop, XP SP3. The user, when
connected to the network logs in with their domain credentials just fine.
When they disconnect from the network they cannot logon with their domain
credentials, it's like they are not cached. To further complicate things,
the user is also denied access to OWA (Outlook Web Access) when they enter
their domain credentials. Yet Outlook on the local machine works just fine
when connected directly to the network. They are also denied access when
authenticating to the domain via Citrix. So essentially the only way this
user can log on and do anything constructive is when they are physically
connected to the corporate network, using locally installed applications. I
have no idea where to begin troubleshooting this problem. Any ideas?

The following article explains how to disable credential caching...
Perhaps reversing the process will re-enable it?

Thank you for your post. The registry on this particular machine is set as
it should be. Not just on the line mentioned in the article but all the other
sections of the key. I thought, and hoped, this would be the answer. Again,
thank you for taking the time to help.
