Hi

A double-barrelled extension could indicate a virus. Have you virus-checked your system with the latest definitions for your AV program?

xtr is not an extension for any legitimate program, and at a guess has
been added to .com (which is) by an AV program in order to quarantine
the file.

It looks as if you have a line in the startup system trying to run it
(And that may be all the AV has left around, in the end). Start - Run -
MSConfig and look in Startup for a line that invokes it - uncheck the
line - OK and don't bother to reboot. Next time you do there will be a
message from 'System Configuration' - check the 'don't show again ' box
and Exit
