I am receiving this error "c:\WINDOWS\System32 corrupted
and unreadable", via the warning icon and text window on
the taskbar, whenever I open a program.

Everything seems to be running a fine. I simply click the
warning away and things run as they should. Though I am
not please to have to deal with this error massage and
what ever else may be causing this.

It tells me to run CHKDSK and I do from CMD> but it does
the 3 varification steps and then stops. Does not repair
anything or provide any info on what the findings were.

Any suggestions?

Run chkdsk /f from the start > run > cmd > ok. Then reboot the computer.
Chkdisk /f will run on reboot.
