C:\RECYCLER

Hello,
I am using windows 2000 server, and noticed that there are few hidden files
(recycle bin type) in the C:\RECYCLER folder.
My recycle bin is empty. These files are realy big (over 1GB each).
Can I delete these files? What are these files?
Thanks

On NTFS partitions there will be one folder {SID} for each user. You can
open the folder and delete the contents.

I have 4 users on the comuter and 6 hidden files ...?
When I tried to delete the files I got an alert that windows might be using
these files and it could result in problems running windows.
is it safe to delete these files?

Yes, alternately you can logon as the user and empty the recycle bin.

Yes, it's safe to delete them. When logged on with administrator
privileges you can simply delete C:\RECYCLER and all of its contents.
Windows will rebuild the folder when it's needed again.
