C prompt on windows 2000p

Kevin

Hello,
Not a technical person here at all, so sorry in advance.
I am running windows 200 p
started it moments ago and it loads halfway then gives me
message indicating

(inaccessable_boot_device
Check for viruses
remove any newly installed HD or HD controllers
Check that your HD is properly configured
Refer to getting started in your manual)

Is there a way I can get to a c prompt to run a check on
the HD
I do not have a copy of the original CD....was from a job
2 years ago.
Any ideas, and thanks in advance

This newsgroup deals with administrative batch scripting on Windows 2000.
Since your system is not in a running condition, no batch solution is
readily available.

I would suggest you ask at a newsgroup that deals more with Windows 2000
problems.
