Getting out of bed in the morning is something I have to do before I can go
to work. It's just something that you do. I wouldn't consider it jumping
through a hoop (well, sometimes it is depending on the night before).

:)

And, as I've said previously

Why repeat what you've said previously?
you don't understand the full implications of
posting a real email address regardless of whether spam reaches your in box.

Why make an assertion that someone doesn't understand something instead
of elucidating what you mean?

Well, I guess that kind of makes my point. There are many negative
effects of spam that many people don't consider. Just because it doesn't
make it to your mailbox, doesn't mean it's not a problem.

It's not a problem to me, and you haven't presented (IMO) an argument that I
should worry about the potential problem it presents to others.

After all, if spammers were using my email, wouldn't I be getting messages
from their victims? Or their victims' ISPs? (I do scan my junk every now and
then.)
And, where would I get my hands on some of those? Maybe look for them in
public newsgroups using a spambot?

Since you only need one valid email address to make it through gateways that
check for such things, that sounds like overkill to me. Why not just use
(e-mail address removed) or any of a million other such addresses found on
websites?
