Bye to all - for now.

I just completed the third and final test on Vista (from RC1 to RTM) and
suddenly realized that it has been 20 years since my first experience of
using PC. 20 years is a long time and many things have changed. I feel
compelled to write the following and I know many of you won’t care or agree
with me, and in this case, just skip it.

To make a long story short, I just wish to remind MS about one thing: If
you removed the flexibility, compatibility, easy to learn, and easy to use
features that made you as the leader of the market, what will be left and
what will you use to replace with?

You have come a long way for being the leader; don’t take it for granted.

To Linux advocates,

Had IBM and Apple and others not so arrogant, there will be no Microsoft.
Ancient military strategist says – Know your enemies even better than
yourself. You are wasting time and energy by attacking MS. Go back to your
lab and study why MS has become the monopoly from a tiny software house.

With all due respect, MS earned its position – even I resent some of their
recent practices. One more example, when MS introduced Word 1.0, it makes
sure that it can open and save then dominated document format from
WordPerfect and Word Star. The other new comer with a much better design,
Ami Pro, couldn’t do that and eventually disappeared. It has been a
consistent pattern for MS products since then and until now for it couldn’t
solve compatibility problems among its own products.

If you can’t do that, no one would give sxxt about how good is the OS or the
product. In fact, technology by itself has zero value if it cannot relate
to our everyday life and work. So wake up!

What I see now is a good opportunity for Linux and/or others, as MS
unfortunately and sadly, has stepped into the same pattern of those were
replaced by it. Go back do your homework or you will miss this great
opportunity.

Despite we all have different views and opinions, I do wish to thank those
who are willing to share their knowledge. I have learned so much from all
of you in this and other newsgroups and on the net.

Best wishes!
