Buttons are gone that point to my macros

I have lots of personal macros (in personal.xls) and they
are assigned to buttons.... they were working fine at one
point until suddenly the buttons disappeared... can I get
them back or do I need to recreate them. How would this
happen? All I did was open a new spreadsheet and it got
rid of them for good.... (yes, I rebooted)

I'm guessing you attached a toolbar to your personal.xls file.

Any chance you could get them back via View|Toolbars and just selecting it?
(maybe it was hidden by mistake.)

I checked that already and it wasn't hidden... just
doesn't make sense as its been fine for ages
