But I don't want a read-only database!

I have created a simple MDB front-end with 2 linked tables and a local table
(to store parameters associated with the form that builds queries). When I
deployed it, I found that any user besides myself can only open it as
read-only, which means that even the parameters cannot be changed.

I have tried changing the security settings on the database objects and
adding other users with read, write, modify permission. I have ensured that
the Read-Only box is not checked in the Properties of the database file and
of the folder.

What else can I try?

(N.B. Using XP with Office 2003, and Vista with Office 2007.)
