I have been on my own as an Access/SQL developer for over a year now. I have
been aggressively trying to grow my business while holding on to my current
customers. I am currently at a point where I no longer have the time I'd
like to spend on marketing my business and am considering contracting with
an outside company to do this for me. Does anyone here have experiences
and/or advice on how to go about this? What is a typical compensation model
for this type of relationship?

Thanks

No idea as to the typical compensation model. However sales droids
can over sell your competence and drastically under estimate the time
required. "That'll only take a few weeks to do.". So make sure you
have a leash on those folks.

And if you are busy enough that you don't need to market your business
then maybe you shouldn't be over extending yourself anyhow. The best
kind of customer is word of mouth. Do a good job taking care of
current customers.
