Business Contact Manager Outlook 2003

I have installed Contact Manager from the new computer
package disc twice. Tool bar or menu button on Outlook
still does not appear. Program is enabled. Dell support
does not have a clue. This is driving me nuts. Is there
something I am missing, or is it just a bad disc? I do
not use an exchange server, only a wireless network at a
home office. Laptop running Windows XP Pro with Outlook
2003 Small Business Edition.Has anyone had this problem?

If you don't see the Business Tools menu, BCM probably failed to load when
Outlook started. Run Regedit and go to the
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Microsoft.BusinessSolutions.eC
RM.OutlookAddin.Connect.1 key. If the value for LoadBehavior is something
other than 3, make a backup of the registry, edit LoadBehavior to set it to
3, then restart Outlook.

If you get errors during setup, if BCM does not load even after you edit the
LoadBehavior registry value, or if the database does not load, you'll may
want to ask Dell to escalate. You cannot file a support incident with
Microsoft since you have an OEM copy.

Thank you for responding to my problem. I had been to the
slipstick URL (A great site I might add)but the big issue
they want to discuss is the conflict with server exchange
(which they have fixed with a download). Dell support
(which I paid for extra when I purchased my new laptop)
does not seem to have a clue, that is once you finally
get through to India (even with an express tag)and if you
are able to understand heavily accented english!
Microsoft directs you back to Dell because the program
was installed by the OEM. VERY frustrating. I am venting
and I apologise for taking your time.
Thanks.

Does this help, specifically in the known issue section?

Sue,
Thanks for the info. When I went in to registry, the
value was set to 3 already.
I'm going to try one more re-install I guess, and if that
does not work, I'll fight through the Dell maze.

Thanks again.
