Burning Software

I've been using Nero for years. Let me correct myself: I've been using
Nero's CD & DVD burning app for years. The 30 other bundled apps just sit
there. After upgrading to vista, I thought I'd use Vista's built-in burning
capabilities, but find that *much* too slow.

That being the case, I can't see paying another $40 to upgrade an app for
which I only use *one* of the multiple apps that come with it. Why pay for
items I don't use, right?

So, I'm looking for recommendations for burning software that works well
with Vista, doesn't have a large footprint and simply works reliably. Any
suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
mxh

I use DeepBurner in XP but it doesn't list Vista support so keeo your eye
on it. Try the protable version (free) and run it off a thumb drive.

For burning CD/DVDs I'd seriously suggest you look at dual booting Linux
and using K3B - with over 300 burns I've never had a failure.

When I ran Vista I just installed the burning rom in Nero 7, there's no need
to even install the other stuff if you don't want to.
Now back in XP I just install v6 even though I have the license for v7, it
runs much quicker.

There is a Vista version of Deepburner available. It's free, small, and
works. Check out the version specs at:

Thanks for all the responses, and sorry for the delayed response. I tried
out a few of the recommendations, and for now, am using Deepburner without
incident.

Thanks again,
