I have a *.bin file and it is about 820MB big. I heard
that the biggest recordable CD is only 700MB. Other people
burned this file on the CD aswell I heard. So, what can I
do to get a bin file with 820MB to a CD with only 700MB? I
heard there is something called "Overbrun?". If yes, how
does it work? Can I compress that file somehow maybe?

Hello!
yes there is a process, called -"overburn" but it can't burn 820 MB size.
But if you use DVD writer you can easily do.

if you burn the image using Nero or easy cd crator it will work. you must
going "Burn Image File" Windows XP's burning wizard wil not burn BIN files.

Hi Ryan,

Get a burning program that spans CD's, then record it to two CD's.

Because of the way a .bin file is structured it is not a one-to-one copy to the CD disk. I do some DVD backups to CD and set the created .bin files to be 800MB and they burn fine on a 700MB CDR. Since I have never had one of those run out of space, there must be some amount of extra space left and probably the extra 20MB will work. Go ahead and give it a try, with the low price of CD-R disks, you don't have much to lose by trying. As others have said, you need a 3rd part burning software for burning .bin files. I find that Nero does the best for this.
