Burning photos in order

I've seen other similar questions, but am not sure if my question was answered.
I am burning old heritage photos to cd. Within each folder i have photos
each with their own different caption. I'v been burning the folders one by
one on the same cd and in the end they are all mixed up and alphabetized.
Most of the photos are of people, so the captions would be names, but i need
them in their correct folder so they are grouped together by family and by
the date taken.

The way to get this effect is to use a photo editor to increase the size
of the "canvas", leaving a white (or other color) space below (or to the
side, or whatever) the picture.

Then insert your caption in the blank area, and use these "titled"
photos as the photos in Photo Story.
