burn a dvd

hi all am after a bit of advice.currently on my pc i have the
following.daemon tools,alcohol 120,nero 7 premium & pinnacle cd+dvd.i know i
have all the tools i need to burn a disc that i can play on my dvd but i dont
have the know how.could anyone please give me afew SIMPLE instructions as all
i end up with are data discs.i have been trying to copy avi films from my
download folder.

Put a commercial video DVD in your PC's DVD player/burner. Examine the file
format and layout. You will not see AVI format anywhere. What does that
tell you?

This works for Nero 6 I would think that Nero 7 would be the same or close.
Nero Vision will recode the avi format so it can be played on your DVD
player.
Open the Nero program and select nero vision, select make a dvd then
navigate to where your avi file is stored via the nero interface. Pretty
simple.

on.does nero vision also work on other file formats?

ok i managed 1 disk.second disk got error report.have given up 4 2day try
again 2morro.thanks 4 all the help............................

Yes Mpeg2,3 and 4. I dount think it will work with quicktime formats (never
tried it).
