Hi,

I want to burn a data CD which can also be used by apple/MAC users. I
understand that if I make it ISO that the CD will work in both systems. How
do I do that?

Thanks

Macs will read PC CDs and vice versa. Just do what you normally do. It
will work. Honest.

and ISO is the default for most , if not all, burning software

ISO is a CD image and is NOT the standard for writing CD's. In fact the
image may be any of several CD formats and would be USELESS to this user.

How would this impact my original question? If I burn my CD using Windows
XP is it usable on an Apple or MAC?

Most CD burning applications generate formats that are not only usable
on Macintosh's and Windows, some file types are even readable with many
models of DVD players. A properly installed Windows XP on a CD burner
equipped computer should have the ability to generate audio and mp3
disks readable in both operating systems with media players.

For an index of explanations of CD formats read

Yellow Book applies to commercially stamped data and application CDs.

Orange Book applies to data and application CD-R and CD-RW disks.

Google searches come in handy!

Thanks. I actually tried searching for information to answer my question
prior to posting here. The trick is knowing the lingo....I think that's why
I wasn't successful.
