Bulletts In Word

I am outlining info. in word and consistenly I loose formatting two-three
pages into the doc. When I begin I am able to have a bullett - with several
indented open bullets below it. Then when I am done with that list I can
insert a new bullett in line with the orginal bulletts along the margin.
However, some sort of glitch causes this formatting to go haywire by about
the third page and I have to manually effect all tabs and indents. Each new
bullett I try to insert shows up in line with the bulletts above it. Anyone
know a way to start a new, non-indented bullett below a list of indented
bulletts, without manually changing indent rules and going into the custom
menu?
