Bullets and Numbering properties

I am writing a report. I want to use the automated Table of Contents,
thus I chose Heading 1 for things like Summary and Glossary. However,
in order to get automated numbering of Tables and Figures with section
number like Figure 1.1, Table 3.2, I need to choose a multilevel
numbering scheme.

I did that and now Word adds a number a head of Summary and Glossary,
making them look like 1 Summary, 2 Glossary, which is not what I want.
I wonder if there is a section break or something so that I don't have
to have these numbers for Summary and Glossary but have them start from
Introduction and on.

Thanks for the help.

To add to what Lene has said, if you set the outline level of your
unnumbered heading style to 1 (Format | Paragraph), it will be included in
your TOC automatically.

You're certainly welcome. This was something I discovered (or at least
realized) rather belatedly, actually while writing
