Bullet items

I created a word document and anytime it goes from double digit bullet
numbering to triple digit bullet numbering the spacing between the numbering
and the text is longer - please see below for an example:

2.9. X Day Rule Requirements:
2.10. 7 Day Rule Requirement:

Why is this happening? It's killing me. How can I manuall adjust so that the
7 Day verbiage is moved closer in?
