What brand and model laptop? Did it work at one time and then it quit? If
so, when did it work and what changed on the laptop that might account for
the problem? Have you checked the laptop maker's web site for help/drivers?
What is the exact error message you receive?

There is usually a button on the laptop that you press to make the
webcam work. It usually has a diagram of a webcam above it.

If it is working after you press thye button, the camera should appear
in the Device Manager under Imaging Devices.

To open the Device Manager, enter devmgmt.msc in the Start -> Run
box.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark or red cross beside the device,
it isn't installed properly.

You should visit the laptop manufacturer's site for the latest drivers
for the camera and other devices.

If you download them individually, right-click on the entry for the
camera in the DM and click on Uninstall. Then install the latest
driver.

When it apears without a yellow explamation mark or red cross beside
it,it is working.
