Bug re Protect a worksheet

K

Kevin

Hi I am using Excel 2002 SP3

I want to Protect a sheet to prevent users from making certain changes
(delete rows, some cells etc). When I use the Tools Protect Sheet option I
select "Format Columns", Edit Obects, Edit Scenarios and Use Autofilter.
Basically I allow them to resize columns, use hyperlinks and the autofilter.
It seems to work fine once I do this. Once I close the sheet then reopen
it the user seems to have no ability to resize columns or any of
the other things ie the sheet is protected but they cannot resize columns,
use hyperlinks etc. Is this a bug or have I done something wrong? When I
unprotect the sheet and immediatley protect it again the options I previously
selected are not selected anymore

thanks

Hi Kevin,

I can not duplicate your problem, everything works correctly for me in Excel
2002 SP3.

The only issue is if you uncheck Select Locked cells, then using the
hyperlink will fail. And if you don't choose Format, Cells, Protection, and
uncheck Locked - then your cells are protected and you can't insert a
hyperlink.
