For info: there seems to be a bug in this new release whereby after
starting it, after a while something causes 2 instances of Avant.exe
to be running. Trying to close one instance causes the whole program
to close down, so it might be intentional but I can't see why. Afaik
previous versions didn't have this 'feature'.

I've gone back to my previous version.

It works fine here too but some while after starting Avant if I check
Windows Task Manager I notice there are two instances of Avant.exe
running on my XP-Pro-SP2 system. Have you checked this if you're
running the same Opsys?

Thanks...I've just downloaded the latest ver and it's 10.2.32!
Almost daily updates seemingly!

I'll give it a try and see what happens...

I downloaded build 32 just now too....
the site still says build 28

was your problem resolved?

I downloaded an even later version 10.2.32 several hours ago and it
seems to be running with only one instance. Maybe there was a minor
intermittent fault which the author's now resolved.

Ah well. I d/l and installed v10.2.build 32 and tried it but that too
appears to create a 2nd instance of Avant.exe after it's been running
for a while, so I've dropped and e-mail to the developer. No reply
yet.
I'm beginning to think this may be intentional, perhaps something to
do with a code change made in the latest releases, possibly to speed
it up.

Thanks, I'll give that a try but I suspect there's something about
these new releases which require a 2nd instance of Avant.exe...

Your welcome.Version 10.2 build 37 just came out. Here is the link to
download it.They don't require a second instance of Avant.exe.It's a bug
that Anderson is trying to fix. That's why there are so many builds being
released.

I'm with you now, that makes sense.
Can you point me to where he talks about this bug?

Here is the link from the forum where he is trying to fix that bug and the
freezing on exit bug that some people are having.
