Bug? Autocalculation turns itself on...

Hi, folks,

The kind of job I do needs to be using manual calculation almost full-time.

Well, the problem is: I want to always use Manual Calculation option
(without "recalculate before save" option checked). But sometimes Excel
itself insists to change that option *without being requested to* :)
And sometimes I find it out a little too late...

Is this any kind of bug?
Is anyone having that problem too?

How do I fix this and turn Excel into a more appropriate friend? :)))

Thanks and regards!

If you open a workbook with auto calculation on first and then open your manual calc workbook, Excel will use the setting of the
first one.

ooooh... so this is a "per-workbook" setting?!

Thought it was a general/global definition... =/

Anyway... thanx!

It's a global setting. But that setting is determined by the first workbook you
open in that session.

Yeah, sure, that was pretty clear!
Thanks
