BUG: AntiSpyware runs scripts when not told !!

Joel Magoun

I work a lot with scripting, and with AntiSpyware running
when I try and open scripts I have a serious problem.

I need to view things in scripts that i have written, but I
REALLY do not want the script to run on my computer.

If i right click on a vbs script and choose to open the
program in notepad MSAntiSpyware comes up and asks me if i
want to allow the script to be accessed or whatever.

If i choose to not allow it, the file becomes blocked..
However, if i choose to allow the action the script RUNS
itself within the context of the windows scripting host.

This is not at all what I wanted, so if i try and view a
script I had written for a completley different system, god
knows what will happen when it runs on my computer, and all
I want to be able to do is open the file in notepad.

I can't afford to be running all the scripts I have on my
computer to find what's inside them, because cleaning up
the mess they create just isn't worth it.

after the script is allowed and accidentlaly run by the
program once i can open it in notepad, but this is a
serious problem for me, and i'm going to uninstall this
program until someone resolves this issue.

I hope someone from the development team is reading this.

You can disable script blocking feature. Clique on Real-Time Protection then
on Application Agents. Look for ScriptBlocking then clique on Deactivate
ScriptBlocking.

Voila !

Hi Joel,

thanks for bringing this to our attention, this indeed isn't funny. I
have just checked with the developers; this issue known already and
being worked on.

Again thanks for testing the beta!
