BUG: aero is disabled if you open 25 instances of Windows Photo Ga

aero is disabled if you open 25 instances of Windows Photo Gallery

reproduction steps:
1. download this zip file "infocard_icon.zip" from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...33-39a8-4bc5-9014-60ed0b560d0e&DisplayLang=en
2. open it using the Vista built-in zip and go to "images" subfolder
3. select all 25 images, right click on them and choose "open"
.... and 25 instances of Windows Photo Gallery will be opened (very slowly
due zip bug) and Aero will be disabled! Although you close them, Aero remains
disabled, until you reboot.
Why Aero is disabled with only 25 windows opened (Windows Photo Gallery)?
Why Aero is not re-enabled automatically?

Because the graphics card has run out of memory, you idiot. It's not a bug.

Why would you want to open 25 instances of Photo Gallery in the first place?

It's a performance bug. In fact my graphics card has 256MB of memory and
it's able to open a lot of Windows.

Just tested your "bug".
I have 26 instances open...still have aero.
Get a better box.

Its not all graphics mem.
When I had 26 open...they were chewing up 787M system RAM

It'll be the lack of graphics memory that causes Aero to switch off though.
The amount of windows that will have to be open to make this happen will
vary from system to system, depending on things like amount of VRAM, screen
resolution, colour depth, and probably some other things too.

Quote from Carey Frisch (MVP)
Your video card and Windows Vista are designed to share system RAM, but only
when you need to do so. For instance, if you are running an application
(such as a graphics intensive game) that requires more memory than that
which
is available on your video card, the system kicks in to allow it to use
general computer RAM. However, when your graphics usage has no need for
system RAM, it's available for other uses. It's a very good technology.

As usual you confirm you don't have a clue what you're blubbering
about. Photo Gallery is FLAWED in that it will automatically spawn as
many instances of itself as necessary to respond to a request to show
attachments.

For example using Agent, my news reader, if I go to some binary
newsgroup and select 50 JPG images for download Photo Galley being
linked as the viewer for that file type will one after another open 50
instances of itself quickly cluttering up the desktop. Depending on
how much memory you have Photo Gallery will sooner or later lock up
depleting system resources. How long that takes is a variable. The XP
default system viewer didn't do that. Again proof beta testers don't
have a clue what they're doing non do they know how to test in a
manner to catch common coding mistakes. If the request is to view 50
images then as each new one is downloaded the latest should REPLACE
the last one in the SAME window, using a single instance of Photo
Gallery.

You have proved you only know how to babble aimlessly. Getting to be
old news since you now have proven to be just another fanboy ninny. If
I give you a cookie will you go away for awhile?

Did you read what was posted before your failed attempt to score points?
Yes what do you think selecting all the images in the zip file and selecting
open does.
Its what the OP said failed and it doesn't.
you really are starting to look senile and the more you open your mouth the
more stupoid you sound.

Try reading the posts before you attempt to score points and you might
actually appear more intelligent than a slug.

I won't snip your pointless babble below as I am sure that it may help you
to remeber what you wrote and why its complete rubbish.

We already established you're an idiot, no need to keep reconfirming

Who's babbling ?
Did you READ the OP's post ?
The "bug" pertained to 25 instances.
It was "not a bug".

You, on the other hand, are a bug.

Stop downloading so many pics...your heart...you know...might give out.
Wouldn't want you pushing daisies yet.

I hate to give you the bad news (yeah right :)) beetle brain, but that
behavior in Photo Gallery does not occur on any of our Vista Ultimate
installs...none of them.
I've dl'ed the op's URL file and tried it, only one image at a time
opens and only one instance of Photo Gallery opens.
I tried it using our own folders containing thousands of jpg images,
selected all of then and hit enter...only one instance of Photo Gallery
opens.
We cannot duplicate this behavior and if it is a bug as you say, then it
must be specific to certain installed configurations or Vista OS's.
I know you think you know everything, but obviously you don't.

I'm giving ANOTHER example of the same problem. If you're too damn
dumb to follow long the best advice is shut up and learn. It is clear
you have lots to learn, but you're way too much a pompous windbag to
admit it. The reality is I forgot more than some a-hole like you and
the other fanboy retards will ever know and you're just too proud to
admit it. THAT is why you're always angry. I so easily make you all
look dummies.
