bsod

has anyone had a problem when surfing the net and ending up with bsod?
nvnrm.sys seems to be the problem.
but don`t know what this is or how to fix.
nforce 4 motherboard with latest drivers
suspect the nforce drivers
only happens on certain sites
please can anyone help

Hi

Could you please post the Stop Code from the BSOD and if present, the Event
ID and Source from the Event Viewer?

You may have a NVIDIA Network Resource Manager driver problem. If you look
in the Device Manager you should see a NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator entry
and nvnrm.sys is one of the drivers. Check and see if you have the latest
drivers for the NF4 chipset. (But you say you've done this.)

One thing you could try is to turn off the Data Execution Protection which
can be the cause of blue screen problems for some systems. Right click on My
Computer, select Properties, select the advanced tab, click on the
Performance settings button, and select the DEP (Data Execution Prevention)
tab and turn it off.

As Will Denny stated we may be able to help you more if you are able to post
the STOP code.

SP2.

Ah, ha.

Interesting. I can only conclude that since my computer's processor does not
support DEP I do not have this selection. I was wondering why my Google
search showed this option - even though I do not see it in my DEP tab.

i have tried to replicate the problem i have, and for some reason i still
get bsod, but a different one!!

its been a while since i updated the nforce drivers, but they have not
posted any new ones as yet.

I think you are on the correct track thinking it is a driver problem. The
error message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is somewhat of a clue.

My experience suggests that sometimes it is better to uninstall a driver
before installing. This assumes of course that you have a know good working
driver for Windows XP.
