I just built a new system for my son and have been having an issue.
Here are the system specs:
Asus A8V Deluxe revision 2.0/A8V1011 BIOS
AMD64 3000+ processor
80 GB Western Digital Hard Drive
Creative Audigy ZS Soundcard
MSI 6800 GT VGA
1 GB Corsair DDR400
Windows XP Professional SP2
All available updates and windows updates installed
Here is the problem:
The wireless pci card receives signal, and I am able to connect to Internet
Explorer. However, after a few seconds I get the BSOD. It does not name a
specific file, but states:
***stop: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x80545FF0, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F Machine
Check Exception
Here is what I have already done:
1: Ran memtest for 24 hours with zero errors.
2: Ran Prime95 and Hot CPU Tester Pro for 24 hours each with zero errors.
3: Installed known operational WMP11 adapter that did not remedy the
situation.
4: Installed suspect WMP11 adapter in another computer and it functioned
normally.
5: Removed sound card from PCI slot to see if it was causing problems.
6: Tried known operational DDR from another computer
7: Reinstalled older BIOS.
8: Reinstalled Windows XP Professional SP2 with WMP11 adapter installed
9: Internet connection works properly when connected directly to
router/cable modem, and no BSOD occurs.
10: Checked event viewer, here is the relating text:
