BSOD--help

I just recently started getting the blue screen of death (BSOD). How can I
tell whats causing it? I am running Vista 64 bit & Norton 360 V3. The only
thing I can think of is the IE8 update.

there is usually some clue in the message shown on the blue screen of death.
If you report what the error message is someone may be able to help.

Sometimes my Vista machine stops working with a fault. Always my first move
is to Control Panel/ Problem Reports & Solutions/ View Problem History. Here
there is a list of recent faults and selecting and clicking on any one fault
will open a new screen giving details of that problem and a suggested cure.
Try it - it usually shows the way to go.

By the way, do you really get a blue screen like in earlier windows
versions? I thought that Vista was designed differently - and I have never
seen one.

No i haven't. It could be the HP web printer stuff. I haven't had the problem
since converting back to IE7.

I think that is the program that monitors the HP printer ink levels, I don't
have a HP printer so I could easly be wrong.

Do you have a HP Officejet All-in-One? It's the stupid HP software, not the
drivers. You can uninstall the software, but leave the print drivers alone.
