When this gem first started, the only changes to the
system were from the following:

1. Anti-virus software- Computer Associates updates nightly
2. windows defender -as far as I know only updates not new version
3. and any other automatic Windows updates if there were any.

Since then, event viewer shows all kinds of errors with system
progams as well as applications that never occured before.

And systems errors are usually pointing to a driver.
Today, the error occured when I logged into driverupdate.com
and started to do a scan of my system for new drivers. Not only
once but twice today. That scan need activex to run. Possibly
activeX? Anyway, I'm going to set Verifier to run and see what
develops. Thx for all your help.

And it will be helpful for us and you if mentioned this BSOD with the exact
text/wording in your next post if you need further help with your OS version
and IE version.
Be ready and backup your important data, it could be time to wipe up the
whole lot for new installation.

It's not really a good idea to post responses as new threads. It makes it
very much harder to keep track of what is happening.

I've also deliberately removed the cc to your mail, as I have no interest in
emailing you directly.
