Thank you! :D that was kind Mucks ... better than etchings any day :p :D

Looks like you had a busy afternoon, but must be very satisfying. They are looking good - but I agree about the up-dates, they're painful, took me ages after installing XP-Pro a couple of months back  Your "flock" of PCs look very smart.

Do you actually run them side by side, as they are in the pic?

Yep, they are all runners as you see 'em ...

I do need another KVM switch though (Keyboard Video Mouse switch) as the one on the far left is headless (Fred) ... it only has power & an Ethernet connection, so it is on & working but I have no visual or control ... yet. :D

I'll let you know in the morning how well I slept, 'cos there is now 5 more fans running than there was yesterday.

I find this room strangely quiet whenever I close-down - and they also take the chill of the air very pleasantly :D I was afraid to stand our's side-by side in case they warmed each other up... a bit of paranoia after the overheating problem probably...:)

Looks like a very nice purchase for some lucky soul :thumb:

My local, well it would be if I had a car, but a half hour walk is good for me ... so my Dr keeps saying, but my legs tell me otherwise.

You want a breakdown ... :thumb:

£2 each for the new case fans ... expensive buggers, inthey. :D
£1 for a new IDE cable, just because I was there in the shop, what the heck
£10 for XP Home ... don't ask, I wont tell no lies (PM me if you want to know)
£20 for the new 200gig HD
£10 for the new Cooler Master case, includes one of them 120mm exhaust fans, but no PSU.

Used to use them when I had the workshop, but I believe MS has now stopped 'em from producing.

It has just occured to me... yes I know, my thought processors need a bit of de-fragging :p .... but I have to ask otherwise I'm risking the bsod in my brain. Regarding "Headless Fred" (love that name, by the way) do you mean that it's crunching? And if so, how do you get it to do that if there is no visual or control yet please?.................. I'm suspecting this is a daft question and that you mean it is running, but not doing anything in particular. Sorry Mucks, I really should get out more - or maybe just haven't had enough coffee today :D

No, it's not a daft question ...

You just go against all we teach you and ... pull all the cables out while the PC is on. ;)

That is, run as normal, insure all is running, then pull the mouse, keyboard & video out of the back.

Sad innit, I have no spare kit ...

I do not recommend anybody does this with there own PC
