browser's cookie functionality

i just got gmail, google's web-based email. i try to log
on, and i get a message saying "your browser's cookie
functionality is turned off. plaese turn it on." and
that's as far as i get, every time. i've done everything
i could think of in internet options, but no dice. any
ideas, advice? please?

I assume you have gone under Tools/Internet
Options/Privacy and set the slider to no higher than
Medium? I had the same problem and had similarly to reset
my Zone Alarm firewall to Medium in the 'Cookies'
category. Check for any other programs (like Zone Alarm)
that give an extra measure of privacy.
