Browser specific

I have a Club member in out classroom this morning that can't get to her
online class without using IE. The .edu site doesn't respond with the class
list after signing in using Firefox. What could a site require that can be
that browser specific.

They could be using ActiveX components, could be using Windows Authentication for log in, etc.
