In talking about screen resolution, some have mentioned
that the browser resolution is just as important.

How do you change IE browser resolution?

I don't think there is such a thing as "browser resolution". Maybe they were
referring to the size people may make their browser window.

For example... My monitor runs at 1600x1200 resolution, but I usually have
my browser window sized at roughly 800x600 - in other words, not maximized.

To do this in Internet Explorer:
On the menu bar go to <View / Text Size / (choose one)>

Is this what you meant? :)

Browser viewport is the phrase, and you change it by dragging the browser's
edges to make it taller/wider or shorter/narrower.

Resolution ONLY determined the maximum value for the browser viewport.
Screen size has NOTHING to do with anything, except your own personal
edification! 8)

there is no "browser" resolution - it is the Windows screen resolution you're
talking about.
