Broken Folder Icon

In my profile is the Documents folder which until a certain point used the
default Vista ICON to display. I have not changed any ICONs manually on my
sysytem but now this folder icon is locked as a standard folder icon instead
of the pretty VISTA version I had.

I looked at settings for the other folders in my profile (music, video,
pictures etc) and I see I can changed any of them to anything I want or even
appy a image as icon. Not that I have done so..

WHen I try to investigate returning my Documents folder to it's standard
Vista 'Documents' icon it appears to be locked somehow and there is no sign
of the FOlder Pictures under Customise tab.

If I look at previous versions I can see the date the folder ICON was
changed as previous versions DO HAVE the original VISTA Documnets folder icon.

Can anyone suggest how I can fix this please?

You've lost the hidden, system desktop.ini file for that folder. If another
user profile is on your computer, of if you have access to a Documents
folder where the icon is correct, you can Copy the desktop.ini file from
that Documents folder, and Paste it into your Documents folder. (Besides
checking "Show hidden files and folders", "Hide protected operating system
files (Recommended)" must be un-checked in Folder Options to see the
desktop.ini). Note that the desktop.ini file in a folder is specific to the
folder in which it resides; if you can't find a "good" Documents folder that
shows the right icon, post back.
