Broadband/Winmx

Hi all hope u can help

Ive recently had broadband and i use a application called
winmx for downloading music after a few minutes the
aplication crashes and the internet to.

I have a firewall but i dont know if it is the firewall
that causes it to crash

Has anyone got any suggestions

What firewall are you using? I one machine I used to use I had winmx and
eventually it would start using all the cpu cycles and vsmon would freak
out(that's the zone alarm firewall). The newer version of ZA and winmx
helped. Maybe try updating your winmx and firewall if you can.

WinMX does not work with some firewalls. You need your
firewall but just test WMX without the firewall. That'll
answer your question.

The firewall that i am using is called ez firewall its
the latest version of it and my winmx is currently at its
latest version.

When i use winmx it stays connected for a few minutes and
then it dissconnects and cant connect then it causes the
internet to crash so i have to reboot the machine to get
it to work. This will repeat itself over and over.

Any suggestions

Try winmx without the ez firewall on. Use the xp firewall for testing and
see if it is indeed that ez firewall that's causing the problem. If so try a
different one. If not post back.
