Broadband TCP/IP help pls

i have a packard bell laptop , windows xp sp2 installed ... the problem is i
was using LAN port for my internet 4months back then i switched to wireless
and now i want to switch back to LAN (cable) but whenever i go to network
options --- > right click on LAN --> properties --> then select Ineternet
protocol (tcp/ip) and then select properties . Before i used to get the
settings menu for dns , ip etc etc but now it gives me this error

my LAN card is enabled , i donno how this happened..any help
would be great

If it’s complaining the network card isn’t found, try reinstalling
the drivers for it.
 
No it says - -
(Microsoft TCP/IP

"In order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network
adapter card."
Surely that sentance means there isn’t a network adapter installed,
since it’s asking for you to install one. Unless of your you simply
disabled it.
 
My guess is that the O.P. took out the "wired" network adapter and replaced
it with the wireless equivalent adapter. Now they would have to un-do this
to go back to a "wired" access.
