My WindowS XP Professional 2003 SOMETIMES doesnt bring to the front the
active window when I click on its icon in the menu bar. So i have to minimise
other open windows in front to get to the one that is actually active.

It's temperamental, so i m pretty sure it's a glitch.

Help anyone? it;s extremely annoying.
Thanks.

Hi,

Happens to me too, but there's no real solution. Sometimes updating video
drivers helps, and sometimes not. It has to do with how the desktop sets
priorities, and use of the "show desktop" function sometimes triggers it
(same thing as popups appearing behind the taskbar).

Thanks. Will try updating video drivers. But my computer is only a few weeks
old, so i assume it should have latest.

BTW. I notice that if you right click on a blank part of the menu bar to
bring up the menu that allows you to "cascade windows" or "tile", it sorts it
out temporarily (even if you havent actually given it any instructions to
cascade, tile etc.) but then it relapses.

No one else I have spoken to seems to have noticed this problem, and I used
Win XP Pro (same version) on another computer before, and I dont remember
this happening.

AND, perhaps a totally unrelated incident: the whole menu bar disappeared
recently after coming out of hibernation. had to restart to bring it back.
any ideas?
