Briefcase Usage

I have created a briefcase on my desktop "My Briefcase" and copied a file
from my server to it "S:\slideshow.ppt". The briefcase says that the file is
"up-to-date".

I open the file from my briefcase just to take a look. I close it without
changing or saving. Now the briefcase says the file "needs updating" and
that the file in my briefcase has been changed. The date and time stamp have
not changed though.

I have tried the same procedure with a PDF and XLS and the files remain
"up-to-date". This only seems to happen with a PPT. Why?

Even though you didn't re-save the document, you accessed it which could
make the system beleive it's been changed because the last accessed time has
changed which is an attribute of the file itself.

Posted 'as is'. If there are any spelling and/or grammar mistakes, they
were a direct result of my fingers and brain not being synchronized or my
lack of caffeine.
